Appointment Booking
The client is Danish Company that is involved in services business.
Industry  Services
Scope The need was for a solution that can help their employees managing their appointments with the customers. The Office Workers can do the allocation and the appointments for the Field Workers who are directly interacting with the clients. Also the solution needed to have the same functionality on mobile devices.

Hence a web application was developed that supported these features. Along with this the mobile version of the solution was developed which was intended to run on Nokia mobiles. For probable requirement of implementation of the mobile application on mobiles from different manufacturers, the application has been developed using Java (J2ME) technology.

Benefits  The benefits from the Web Application were:
  • Simple/Easy to use User Management module that can be managed by a Super User Account.
  • Display of appointments on Planner with Yearly/Monthly/Weekly/Daily views
  • Appointment Management for Office and Field Workers, with the due restrictions for removal of appointments as required by client.
The benefits of the Mobile Application were:
  • Small footprint of the web based application, with the ability to run in disconnected mode.
  • Provides limited Planner that displays the appointments for different active users.
  • Sync functionality for synchronizing the mobile database with the central database. Due to the limitation of the mobile devices, at any given time the mobile device will have a month of appointment's data for the active user.Display of appointments on Planner with Yearly/Monthly/Weekly/Daily views

Scope The client is one of the leading manufacturing units in The Netherlands. Its IT division has developed a software application that is indented to provide an intuitive solution for clients (wholesalers for products) to manage, record, and analyze the sales, distribution, and order fulfillment of parts.One component of this process is the distribution of these manufacturing items. For this distribution, client would like to include a delivery route-planning module. This module will facilitate the dispatch managers in scheduling routes for delivery cars. This module will be made available in conjunction with the main product, and has the potential to add significant value to the overall usefulness of the primary functionality to provide the route planner in intelligent/dynamic and real time mode.The solution is required to fulfill two objectives:
  • It should cater to the most important requirements to help users utilizing the product, with the Windows based client/server application and interaction to the main product through web services.
  • It should provide mobility for the utilizing it on anywhere-anytime basis, through GPRS and GPS techniques.
Benefits  The solution is provided as three components:
  • The Server component, which is the heart of the solution and the server functionality for the solution. It hosts all the components required to provide different functionalities. This includes the components required for checking the feasibility of the Order for delivery on specified time (Time Window). The Server application contains .NET marshal objects for providing the interface to the outer world. These front objects are backed by one or more inner processing and support objects. The Server will be developed using VB.NET environment; the objects are hosted as .NET Remoting objects and are interfaced to the main product. The service also includes a set of web services for Order feasibility as well as synchronization of data from mobile PDA clients. These services can be accessed by any registered client in a secured manner to schedule Order.
  • The Client component, which provides the rich client interface that can be used by the Dispatcher department users for managing the Order Dispatch and optimize the delivery schedules. The application will be built using VB.NET environment, and contains User interfaces and components for providing the required functionalities. The client application also includes functionality of map reports, and vans positioning at any given time.
  • The Mobile component, which provides the mobility to the overall solution. The drivers can use these mobile PDAs (like QTek's GPRS/GSM based Pocket PCs) to have the route downloaded, and can also update the status of Order deliveries in the Pocket PC application. The application uses third party controls to display the maps and routing direction reports to assist the driver in best possible manner. It also updates the server for Order delivery status and current positioning (through interfacing with GPS devices) using secured web services on periodic basis. This communication is based on GPRS network.

The Booking System provides a solution that can be used for booking Horses/Conference Room/Boat, facilities provided by the Club. The solution provides for an easiest way to manage this in addition with required security, administration and schedule generated by the user. The solution provides different services for the requirements of user like Administrator, Employees, Students or External Users.

Benefits  The portal allowed an easy way to book the resource of the Club. For the club owner is provided a secured, easy, and a quick tool to manage the resource of the Club. The calendar gives a quick view of the allocated resource for a club or a member.
The benefits from the web application were:

  • Allocation display using Calendar with Yearly/Monthly/Weekly/Daily views
  • Role based User Management, with different privileges
  • Booking Management for different resource
  • Reports for Allocations, and Statistical Analysis


The solution also provides the mobile enhancements to be implemented on Pocket PCs and other Phone devices with Windows CE platform.

The need is to have a web based portal that can facilitate Information collection and bulk mail sender, to attract potential customers and increase awareness towards products for the user company. Companies can use this service to gather the email addresses for their potential customers, distribute them in groups and send emails about the products and new on periodic basis. By using this service companies can gain advantages like:

  • Providing awareness for new products and enhancements to the existing products to the potential customers
  • Increased data collection rate because of usage of online Forms
  • Planned delivery for all customers through auto-bulk mailer
  • Ease of configuration and maintenance

Benefits  The solution is provided as a web application (which can be configured as a web portal) that supports the following features:
  • The Form Designer, which is basically Data Collector, which is a Web Form; capable to update the database with the information provided by the user. The Web site visitor can fill in the data with the related information and submit it to update the database. The Form will also provide selection of Fields of Interest/Categories defined by the Administrator.
  • The Content Manager that is used to store different types of content according to Category, defined by the users. Later on this content will be mailed to the clients of the registered users, who has filled the form; generated by the user.
  • The Scheduler, which is used to send mails to the clients. Options are provided for scheduling on Day, Week, Month and Year basis. Registered User to the portal will create a schedule according to requirements. Scheduler will read this schedule and it will send mails to the clients. The scheduler is developed to provide the best performance. It will also log all the activities, for future tracking
